Project info:
Managed an operating system upgrade initiative for an enterprise organization, focused on migrating servers from the aging Windows Server 2012r2 platform to a modern, supported Windows Server version (e.g., Server 2019 or 2022). The primary role involved project management, ensuring the operational continuity of critical business applications post-upgrade.
Not all the servers followed the same upgrade pattern, while a significant number of servers were successfully upgraded in-place with minimal disruption, a tailored approach was required for others. This involved deploying new instances on the target OS and performing full re-installation and re-configuration of the necessary application components.
Planning and execution were key to validating application compatibility and functionality on the new operating system, ensuring security compliance and retiring and retiring legacy technology.
